Laksamana Bentan in Kampung Kelantan
Laksamana Megat Seri Rama, also known as Laksamana Bentan, discovered the murder of his wife and child when he returned from the war. He decided to seek revenge. On one Friday afternoon, during the Friday prayers, while the Sultan was lifted up (julang) by his men, he was ambushed and stabbed to death by the Laksamana. Before he drew his last breath, he cast a curse which forbade the sons of Bintan to touch the grounds of Kota Tinggi for eternity. If not, all of them will vomit blood to death. The Laksamana died as well as the sultan. [+ wikipedia ]
In Johor, to have a place called ‘Kampung Kelantan’ is a very weird thing. At the background is where the infamous Sungai Johor located. In 2006 & 2007, there were a big flood inundated almost the whole state of Johor. Hopefully, it’s nothing to do with the curse.
